If fake news has the power to influence a presidential election, why not NBA All-Star Game fan balloting?

Joel Embiid, the NBA's social media maven, knows this. And so he enlisted the Twitter account of President-elect Donald Trump to cleverly disguise an endorsement that might help boost his chances of making the Eastern Conference roster for next month's game.

The 76ers big man, finally healthy, is playing to the level that made him the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 draft.

Embiid sits fourth in the Eastern Conference with 221,984 fan votes as of Thursday, when results from the first round of balloting were released.
