Gordon Hayward continues to take steps toward a return to the floor this season.
The Celtics forward, who suffered a dislocated ankle and fractured tibia in his Boston debut in October, appears to be at a new stage in his recovery, based on a report Tuesday by Yahoo Sports' Chris Mannix:
Brad Stevens says Gordon Hayward, with the team in LA, will remain in LA for the next two weeks with some staff. No timetable on him, but could start traveling w/team in early March.

Hayward has been building momentum toward an early comeback from what was initially considered a season-ending injury. On Sunday, his wife posted an Instagram video of Hayward getting up shots. About two weeks before that, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge showed Hayward walking without a brace.
Hayward said in December his mind was "open" to returning this year. Tuesday's update hints he might be more than just open to the idea.
