This offseason, the Philadelphia 76ers have been pondering whether they could re-sign shooting guard Quentin Grimes.

Grimes was traded to the 76ers from the Dallas Mavericks and has thrived since arriving in Philadelphia. In 28 games played, he  averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals while shooting 46.9% from the field, 37.3% from behind the arc, and 75.2% from the free-throw line.

According to Dan Favale of Bleacher Report, Grimes could re-sign on a four-year, $67 million deal.

"This dance between player and team is giving off an air of inevitability," Favale wrote.

He adds, "Grimes and the Sixers will reach a multi-year agreement, with some team flexibility, that guarantees him a notch above mid-level-exception money. Prediction: Quentin Grimes re-signs with the Sixers on a four-year, $67 million deal, with a team option in the final season."

Jake Fischer reported a few weeks ago that Grimes and the 76ers are expected to agree to a short-term deal.

Grimes remain one of the major free agents who have yet to be signed this offseason, joining Jonathan Kuminga, Josh Giddey, and Cam Thomas.

The Philadelphia 76ers missed the playoffs last season, with Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Jared McCain missing significant time throughout the season due to injuries.

In their absence, Grimes has been able to fill the void they left with some stellar work. Performance down the stretch of the 2024-25 season.

If the 76ers re-sign Grimes, there's no doubt that they would be adding an impact player who has shown he can contribute on both ends of the floor.
