The New York Knicks continue to make some big moves with their coaching staff this offseason.
The Knicks’ offseason began with drama when they surprisingly fired Tom Thibodeau. After making the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000, the Knicks were suddenly in search of a new bench boss.
Of course, they eventually landed on 2023 Coach of the Year Mike Brown to take over and have since been looking around the league for the perfect coaches to complement their new head man. On Monday, the Knicks made another addition to their coaching staff, with SNY’s Ian Begley reporting that the team is hiring T.J. Saint as an assistant.
Knicks are hiring T.J. Saint as an assistant coach on Mike Brown’s staff, league sources told SNY. Saint, head coach of the Pelicans G League team, will aid NYK on the offensive end. He’s viewed in NBA circles as a bright offensive mind; Squadron had G League’s top offense in…

Saint spent the past three seasons as the head coach of the Birmingham Squadron, which is the New Orleans Pelicans' G League affiliate. Begley noted that Saint will be assisting Brown on the offensive side, with the Knicks’ new addition being revered as one of the best young offensive minds in the coaching game.
With some other coaching experience at the college and NBA levels, Saint brings in an abundance of experience to New York and should be able to help Brown and company be one of the league’s top teams again next season. With championship expectations, it’s critical for the Knicks to find the perfect guys to add to Brown’s staff, and it appears that Saint met all of their qualifications.
While it remains to be seen how Saint will be able to help one of the league’s best offensive teams, any improvement on that end would simply make the Knicks even scarier.
