Karl-Anthony Towns' first season with the New York Knicks came to a close after getting eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals. It was a historic season for Towns as he helped Jalen Brunson and the rest of the squad lead the Knicks to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years. The last time New York made it that deep in the postseason was back in 2000, when Reggie Miller's Pacers also beat them to advance to the finals.

While there's no doubt that it was shattering to see the Knicks fall to the Pacers again, Towns believes that the 2024-25 season was special. During an episode of Carmelo's podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn, Town shared his thoughts on his first season playing in New York.

“It’s special, you know. You never know that in 5 months you would get to the Conference Finals. Something that hasn’t been done in 25 years,” Towns shared.

Towns even told Anthony how the NBA legend inspired him to do his best, suiting up for the Knicks.

“I mean, when I was growing up, I was watching you play," Towns said to Anthony. "So, it was like seeing you in the garden. Seeing the magical moments you made and everything, and kind of being able to make my own history there.”

Looking at the star center's numbers, he averaged 24.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. His efforts were enough for him to be named to his fifth All-Star appearance and for him to earn a spot in the All-NBA Third Team.
