Is Rudy Gobert playing against Hornets? Latest injury update on Wolves center image

The Minnesota Timberwolves (3-3) had just a day to think about their 10-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs before returning to action on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets (2-4).

Wolves center Rudy Gobert was active against the Spurs, where he recorded 10 points and three rebounds on 3 of 8 shooting in 23 minutes of action. The Spurs played arguably their best game of the season against the four-time Defensive Player of the Year, as generational big man Victor Wembanyama finished with a less than anticipated 17 points and six rebounds on 46.7% shooting.

As always, Wembanyama's defense was among the best in the league, but questions remain about an offensive identity for the French phenom.

A game prior, Gobert was put on a poster dunk by Denver Nuggets guard Christian Braun.

Is Rudy Gobert playing against the Hornets?

Gobert is listed as questionable on the injury report with a left ankle sprain. Outside of the 32-year-old, only G League players are out for the Wolves.

As for the Hornets, Mark Williams (left foot tendon strain) and Nick Richards (right shoulder soreness) are ruled out while second-year forward Brandon Miller is questionable with a left glute strain/injury management.

The Hornets' greatest offensive threat is star guard LaMelo Ball, who is on a tear to begin the season. He tallied 36 points on 57.7% shooting against one of the league's best defensive backcourts, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White of the Boston Celtics.

With guards Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, Donte DiVincenzo, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker all healthy, expect there to be a major emphasis on slowing down Ball throughout the night.

If Gobert is ruled out, the 23-year-old will focus his attention on attacking Julius Randle and the interior of Minnesota's defense.
