The Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the most interesting teams of the past few years, and they are never afraid to make a big move.
Over the past few weeks, the Bucks have made headlines nonstop. While Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future is still somewhat uncertain, the Bucks have tried to do everything they can to stay within reach of championship contention and keep him happy.
This offseason, the biggest moves Milwaukee made were the signing of Myles Turner and the waiving of Damian Lillard. As the Bucks look to begin the next chapter of the Antetokounmpo era, they will have to face the consequences of one of their biggest mistakes.
At last season’s trade deadline, the Bucks struck a deal to send Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma. While Kuzma was expected to come in and give the Bucks another solid defensive presence and some size on the wing, he was a non-factor at best in the playoffs.
His play was a perfect example of why he landed on Bleacher Report’s list of the five most overrated players of the 2020s. Dan Favale placed Kuzma at No. 4, citing plenty of worrying numbers, including his on-off splits and underwhelming production despite his high usage in Washington.
As the Bucks look to contend in the East next season, they will need Kuzma to make a much bigger impact next season. However, if he continues to play like one of the league’s most overrated players, Kuzma could be a driving force in Antetokounmpo leaving Milwaukee.
