The Milwaukee Bucks needed guard help during the offseason and addressed the issue accordingly.
Recently, the Bucks landed Cole Anthony after being bought out by the Memphis Grizzlies. Anthony is a decent player and fits what the Bucks have been looking to do throughout the offseason. Milwaukee came in with a clear focus on getting younger, and did precisely that.
Regarding some of the other guards they were reportedly interested in, former Bucks Rookie of the Year Award winner Malcolm Brogdon was a name that continued to pop up.
However, according to Jake Fischer, the Bucks aren't expected to pursue Brogdon after they added Anthony.
“The Bucks likely won’t pursue Brogdon after landing Cole Anthony, but Fischer said there’s still plenty of interest around the league in the veteran guard. Along with the Kings, he names the Pelicans, Timberwolves and Warriors as potential landings spots for Brogdon, who appeared in 24 games with Washington last season,” Hoops Rumors reported from Fischer’s live stream.
One could argue that Brogdon would’ve been a better fit with the Bucks because he’s been around the league for a bit longer and is likely a tad better than Anthony.

However, he also has a tough injury history and made some brutal comments about Milwaukee when he left. For those reasons alone, going with the younger Anthony was likely the better idea.
The Bucks will have to hope that Anthony can improve his 3-point shooting, as he’s shown some promising signs on that front, albeit on somewhat low volume.
If the Bucks get him open shots and have him run the second unit, this could be an intriguing pickup for them.
