Amid the Bucks’ flurry of moves at the start of free agency, the club could look to add a cost-effective option to bolster its depth at point guard.

The Bucks made a stunning decision to sign former Pacers big man Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million contract Tuesday, waiving superstar point guard Damian Lillard in the process.

Milwaukee also re-signed polarizing point guard Kevin Porter Jr., who is likely to join the starting five in the 2025-26 campaign. The club has other options in the backcourt, including Gary Trent Jr. and AJ Green, though it’s expected to target additional low-cost options at the point this offseason after waiving Lillard.

According to The Athletic, former Suns point guard Monte Morris could be a potential option. He would likely command a veteran minimum deal.

Morris had a career-best season with Denver in 2021-22, averaging 12.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 48.4 percent from the field across 29.9 minutes per game in 75 regular-season appearances.

He signed a three-year, $27.77 million contract with the Nuggets in 2020 but was eventually traded to the Wizards in July 2022. The 30-year-old was dealt two more times before landing a veteran minimum contract with Phoenix last season, marking his fourth team in three years.

Morris has seen a steady decline in production since his final season with Denver and played a limited role in Phoenix during the 2024-25 season. Over 45 regular-season appearances last year, he averaged 5.2 points, 1.6 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game.
