The Milwaukee Bucks continued their busy offseason with another calculated addition, this time bringing in veteran guard Gary Harris on a two-year contract. The move follows a wave of roster changes as the franchise shifts toward a more seasoned, postseason-ready identity.

Harris, who most recently suited up for the Orlando Magic, agreed to a deal that includes a player option for the second year. Known for his defensive intensity and ability to stretch the floor, the 11-year NBA veteran is expected to provide both depth and leadership in Milwaukee’s revamped backcourt.

Once a fixture in the Denver Nuggets’ starting lineup, the 6-foot-4 guard has embraced a bench role in recent seasons. Despite the reduced minutes, Harris’ value lies in his playoff-tested poise, he's logged 39 career postseason games and brings a reputation as a reliable perimeter defender.

Milwaukee General Manager Jon Horst praised the acquisition, noting Harris’ impact beyond the stat sheet. “His playoff experience and steady presence will enhance our guard rotation,” said Horst. “He brings toughness and composure that are invaluable come April and May.”

Harris is projected to provide backup minutes behind Kevin Porter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr., and there’s speculation he could even slot in at small forward when needed, supporting Kyle Kuzma and Taurean Prince. The Bucks are clearly seeking flexibility across multiple positions, with Harris fitting that mold.

This signing follows the departure of long-time Buck Pat Connaughton, who was dealt to Charlotte in an earlier trade. Connaughton's exit marked the end of a seven-season stint in Milwaukee, making room for the franchise’s new vision.

Rumors continue to swirl about Milwaukee’s pursuit of additional talent, including reported interest in center Myles Turner. The front office appears far from finished as it eyes a deeper postseason push.

By targeting proven veterans like Harris, the Bucks are reinforcing their championship ambitions with experienced voices and playoff reliability.
