The Orlando Magic made their biggest move of this decade, trading for Desmond Bane.

In return, the Memphis Grizzlies got four first-round picks for the coming years, and they could be looking to add more should they decide to completely rebuild.

If the Grizzlies do go for a full rebuild, a marquee guard could be shipped out to the Sacremento Kings in a deal that would benefit both sides.

“The Sacramento Kings find themselves in the NBA's version of purgatory—decent enough to potentially compete for a Play-In Tournament berth each season, but not anywhere close to talented enough to be an actual contender,” Bleacher Report's Timothy Rapp stated Sunday, “Ja Morant would certainly give them a star to build around, essentially replacing De'Aaron Fox after he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in February.”

After the Kings announced they were looking for a long-term point guard and the Grizzlies traded away Bane, the two could reach an agreement.

A package of Zach Lavine and Devin Carter for Ja Morant, Vince Williams, and Lamar Stevens works, though there would likely be picks involved from both sides.

Memphis’ decision to trade Bane was surprising, but because of the haul they got back, it was a no-brainer.

In Sacramento’s case, Rapp summed it up perfectly. They are in the middle of the pack and not contenders, but just good enough that they can’t get an extremely valuable draft pick.

They should decide if they would like to go all in and acquire the high-flying guard Morant, and benefit from Memphis’ decision to commit to the rebuild.
