This Denver Nuggets free agency has gone very well. They’ve improved their roster through multiple signings and trades and look retooled and ready to compete again for an NBA championship. Shams Charania of ESPN just reported that another Nuggets free agent signing is bringing another veteran scorer to the roster.
“Free agent sharpshooter Tim Hardaway Jr. has agreed to a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, sources tell ESPN. Hardaway had a strong season for the Pistons' resurgent 2024-25 campaign and now Denver officials finalize a deal with Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports.”
Charania went on to say, “Denver prioritized a shooter in free agency Tuesday -- and adds Hardaway to its acquisitions of Cam Johnson, Bruce Brown Jr., and Jonas Valanciunas in the last day.”
This is another Denver Nuggets free agency signing that looks like a perfect fit. Nikola Jokić is one of the greatest offensive distributors of all time, and he has another new weapon at his disposal.
The price on this Nuggets-Tim Hardaway Jr. signing hasn’t been released.
Hardaway Jr. averaged 11 points per game last season while shooting nearly 37% from three. Hardaway Jr. represents another sharpshooter that Jokić can feed open threes.
This Nuggets-Tim Hardaway Jr. signing is a home run. He brings his scoring acumen and, most importantly, his consistency.
Hardaway Jr. has played at least 70 games in five of his last six seasons. The Nuggets had trouble with bench consistency last year, and Hardway Jr. is slotted to fix that problem instantly.
