The Dallas Mavericks are set to add Cooper Flagg on Wednesday, and adding some more championship experience could be a winning formula.

With the 2025 NBA Draft set for Wednesday night, the entire NBA world is focused on the incoming players who could shape the league for years to come. Along with that, there will be many trades and a whole lot of movement as teams try to position themselves well in the draft and beyond.

While Dallas could call it a night after taking Flagg, it could still get active in the near future and become a trade partner for one of the teams expected to be active. The Miami Heat missed out on Kevin Durant, but they still have plenty of deals they could make as they look to position themselves as a contender for next season.

According to a recent report from NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Heat could be looking to move Andrew Wiggins this offseason, and the Mavericks could be a perfect fit. While the Mavericks have plenty of players to play down low, the addition of Flagg could lead to Dallas searching to replace some of those big forwards or centers with a more versatile wing like Wiggins.

A potential deal to send Wiggins to Dallas could be as simple as sending out P.J. Washington and Caleb Martin. Of course, Martin was a critical part of Miami’s run to the 2023 NBA Finals, and with Washington’s role in Dallas’ 2024 playoff run, he could also be a perfect fit for Pat Riley in South Beach.

While Wiggins probably won’t reach his All-Star level again, he has the ability to be a high-volume scorer and could help hold the fort down while Kyrie Irving recovers from injury. If Nico Harrison could pull it off, he could suddenly have four No. 1 picks in his starting five, including three NBA champions.
