Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison has been holding several press conferences lately, and the main theme continues to be his decision to trade Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis.

Harrison has had to deal with a lot of boos and "Fire Nico" chants at Mavericks games, and while it's natural for him to want to defend his decision, Charles Barkley believes he should simply stop doing so.

"Listen, man, I consider you a friend of mine, Nico Harrison," Barkley said. "I consider you a friend of mine, I wish you nothing but the best. I thought you did a good job last year with the Mavs, and obviously, whatever happened this year didn't work out. Man, don't do no more press conferences. I don't even know what you're doing, I really don't.

"Like, I got sympathy and love for you, but I have zero idea what you're trying to do. This war is over, brother. You taking the L. I hope you keep your job, I hope that team get healthy, but man, don't do anymore interviews. Please don't," Barkley concluded.

Harrison made a baffling remark about his perception of Doncic's connection to the Mavs' fanbase, essentially admitting he didn't understand how much the Slovenian superstar meant to them.

If Harrison made the trade because he truly believes defense wins championships, then that's his right. But admitting he didn’t grasp Doncic’s impact shows a complete lack of awareness and does nothing to soften the blow of Mavs fans suddenly losing their franchise player.
