The Chicago Bulls haven't given up on Josh Giddey yet, but they aren't willing to give him the money he's looking for. From the Bulls’ perspective, they have no reason to give him the type of money he's looking for.

Giddey is a decent, not great player, and might not be worth the $30 million per year he's looking for.

If the Bulls can get that figure to around $20 to $25 million, it's likely a much better deal for them.

While Giddey will always be looking for the most money he can get, the Bulls have to understand that no other team in the NBA can realistically give him that.

According to ESPN, there are a few factors in play here, but Jamal Collier noted that Giddey not having other teams he can sign with is certainly playing in the Bulls' favor.

“Giddey got off to a slow start, but the Bulls got a glimpse of his effectiveness as a lead initiator in the second half when he averaged 21 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists after the All-Star break.

“Giddey has been seeking a deal in the $30 million range annually, and the team hasn't agreed to that price. With cap space scarce across the league, especially for restricted free agents, the Bulls have benefited from holding out for a more team-friendly deal,” Collier wrote.

It's tough to blame the Bulls in the situation, but it could come back to haunt them a bit.

If a star player ever wants to play in Chicago and is worried that the team won't give him the money he's looking for eventually, this could cause an issue.

However, players also understand the business side of things, and that's all Chicago is doing from that standpoint.
