2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown did all he could for the Boston Celtics in the 2025 NBA Playoffs prior to the team's Eastern Conference Semi-Final defeat against the New York Knicks.
Even on an injured knee, Brown contributed 22.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 11 postseason contests.
Following the Celtics' eventual elimination, recent reports have revealed that the 4-time All-Star made a major decision with regard to his path towards recovery from the injury sustained at some point in the regular season.
"Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and is expected to be ready for 2025-26 training camp." ESPN's Shams Charania shared via Twitter/X on Wednesday morning.
In a jarring, but promising turn of events, Brown will join his superstar teammate and 6-time All-Star Jayson Tatum as he continues to work his way back from a demoralizing Achilles injury suffered in Game 4 of the second round against New York.
In 63 regular season appearances for the Celtics in 2024-25, Brown averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists to earn his fourth trip to the All-Star Game. Unfortunately, he missed the 65-game threshold to be eligible for season awards, such as All-NBA Team recognition.

With Brown being a name to monitor in trade rumors throughout the course of the 2025 offseason, the news of his procedure may lead to a few teams backing off from pursuing a deal with Boston centered around the 28-year-old.
