The Toronto Blue Jays have a below-average farm system, and there's a good chance that will come back to haunt them in the near future.
For a Blue Jays organization that hasn't had much luck in free agency due to players not wanting to play in Toronto, the Blue Jays need to get better all around. If they're looking to be the team they want to be in the near future, it could have to come in the draft.
In a recent prediction from Baseball America, the outlet had the Blue Jays selecting a left-handed pitcher with the eighth overall pick. Baseball America predicted that the Blue Jays would land Kade Anderson out of LSU, a starter who has posted a 3.28 ERA this year for the Tigers.
“Anderson has pitched his way solidly into the top tier of college arms in the class and could fight with Liam Doyle and Jamie Arnold to be the first lefty off the board. Anderson left his most recent start after 5.2 innings and 109 total pitches with a left wrist cramp, but there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of concern about it at the moment,” they wrote.
LSU won the Baton Rouge Regional on Monday night, defeating Arkansas Little Rock. They'll take on a tough West Virginia team, looking to get back to the College World Series.

In his most recent outing against Dallas Baptist during the Baton Rouge Regional, Anderson threw 7.0 innings of four-hit baseball, allowing no earned runs and striking out 11.
This was the seventh straight game that he struck out at least nine hitters, doing so against some tough SEC competition before their matchup against Dallas Baptist.
