The Toronto Blue Jays are one of Major League Baseball's hottest teams, and they pulled off a dramatic comeback win against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night.
They have a solid core in place that has helped them remain in contention in 2025 after they lost 88 games in 2024.
Though they managed to extend Vladimir Guerrero Jr. early in the season, the status of Bo Bichette is uncertain. In all likelihood, he won't be back in 2026.
Bradford Doolittle of ESPN noted that the Blue Jays need to decide what to do with him at the deadline.
"The Jays have the look of a fence-straddler around the deadline, adding on the margins while trying to balance near- and long-term objectives. Bichette has been better than last season, but he hasn't played so well that Toronto's postseason hopes would be torpedoed by sending him away in advance of his looming free agency, preferably for pitching help," Doolittle wrote.

Bichette is having a strong 2025 season, hitting .269/.314/.423 with eight home runs, 38 RBI and a .737 OPS. He also has stolen four bases.
Chances of him returning to Toronto in 2026 are slim, so it might be wise to trade him to another contender and try and boost their pitching staff.
However, keeping him wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea, as they could hope for one last run with the Guerrero-Bichette tandem.
The Blue Jays should be careful about not making the same mistake the Los Angeles Angels did with Shohei Ohtani in 2023, when they didn't trade him for prospects with a year left on his contract.
But it will be interesting to see what the Blue Jays decide to do with Bichette this summer. Balancing competing in 2025 with the future might be their best course of action.
