Monday was a significant news day in Major League Baseball because one of the best closers and potential trade candidates, Emmanuel Clase of the Cleveland Guardians, was placed on paid leave for an investigation into gambling.
Clase is the second Cleveland pitcher to be investigated for gambling this season, with starting pitcher Luis Ortiz being put on paid leave at the start of July.
With all the craziness going on with the Guardians, there most likely won't be competing for a playoff spot this season, which means a few of their players could be moved at the trade deadline.
Since Cleveland now can't trade Clase, other relief pitchers could be on the move, and Matthew Sookram from Fansided thinks the Toronto Blue Jays should trade for Guardians relief pitcher Jakob Junis.
"32-year-old reliever Jakob Junis is sporting a 124 ERA+ and has given up just three home runs in 43 innings pitched," Sookram wrote. "He will be a free agent at the end of the season and would fit in well in a Blue Jays bullpen that has allowed 45 home runs this season - seventh most in the AL."

Junis is on a one-year, $4.5 million contract and has been in the MLB for nine years.
The 32-year-old pitcher would be a nice addition to the Blue Jays' bullpen, and hopefully, he could get some big-time outs in the postseason.
