The Texas Rangers may need a new manager for the 2026 MLB season.

That's what The Athletic's Jim Bowden recently suggested in an article.

He anticipates that both Bruce Bochy and Braves manager Brian Snitker will retire after this season.

"There is a lot of buzz in the industry that Braves manager Brian Snitker and Rangers manager Bruce Bochy could retire at season’s end, which would be a big loss for the sport," Bowden wrote. "Both are classy people with impressive track records who have been great for the game."

Bochy turned 70 years old in April.

He has won four World Series as a manager, three with the San Francisco Giants and one with the Rangers.

This season has been a bit bumpy, with a 33-36 record entering Friday.

In a 28-year managerial career spanning the Padres, Giants and Rangers, Bochy has a 2204-2221 record.

When he makes the postseason, he's a tough out, with a 57-37 playoff record.

It would make sense that Bochy doesn't have forever left in the dugout. But it seems likely that he'll get to leave on his own terms after such an illustrious career.
