The San Francisco Giants have been a surprise contender this season. They have struggled a bit lately, falling to 45-41 on the season, but remain in contention.

San Francisco could use a little help at first base. They currently have Wilmer Flores filling that role, but they could use somebody who could play the position full-time and bolster their lineup.

There will be plenty of bats available at the trade deadline. One of the top bats available will likely be Baltimore Orioles slugger Ryan O'Hearn.

David Schoenfield of ESPN predicts that San Francisco will trade for him in the coming weeks.

"You could find a half-dozen teams where O'Hearn fits, but let's go with the Giants, who rank last in the majors in OPS at first base, with an average below .200 and just five home runs. They also rank in the bottom third of the majors in OPS versus right-handed pitching, so adding O'Hearn on top of Rafael Devers would give San Francisco a second middle-of-the-order lefty bat," Schoenfield wrote.

O'Hearn is hitting .295/.383/.471 with 11 home runs, 30 RBI and an .854 OPS this season with the Orioles. He is in the final year of his contract, so it makes sense that Baltimore would trade him while they can capitalize on his value.

As for San Francisco, they would pick up another much-needed left-handed bat that provides power along with Devers. The offense has fallen flat lately, so another bat could help them get going again and stay in contention.

The Giants are nine games back in the National League West and 1 1/2 games out in the Wild Card race. Their playoff hopes are very much alive.

It will be interesting to see if they are able to land a bat at the deadline. O'Hearn would certainly check several boxes for a team looking to boost its offensive production.
