Mitch Keller is one of the biggest starting pitcher names on the trade market heading toward the MLB deadline.
That sets the Pittsburgh Pirates' right-hander up for a very unusual Monday night.
You see, Keller is the starting pitcher for the Pirates in San Francisco in a game that will start at 9:45 p.m. on clocks in Pittsburgh.
If Keller is indeed moved in the next few days, this will be his last start with the Pirates, which could be a plenty emotional experience for Keller in and of itself.
Then you've got the Pirates front office watching and hoping Keller stays healthy so that his trade value doesn't vanish in the blink of an eye.
Every team that wants Keller would of course also want him to stay healthy and will be keeping an extra close eye on his outing.

There's also the hours leading up to the game, when teams very well could be calling Pittsburgh and trying to get a Keller deal done before he even takes the mound. If a trade was completed three hours before game time, Keller could fly out of town and pitch for his new club in a day or two.
There are so many moving parts and variables in play that it's impossible to know exactly how Monday will go for Keller.
But it's sure to be a lot different than pretty much any other start day he's ever had in the major leagues.
