The Philadelphia Phillies have a need in the outfield and have World Series aspirations. They could make a blockbuster trade and bring Mike Trout to Philadelphia.
Outside of Nick Castellanos, none of the Phillies' outfielders have produced offensively. Adding an outfielder who can provide some production at the plate should be the Phillies' top priority at the trade deadline. While there are some good options seemingly available, the Phillies could really declare their "all-in" attitude by swinging a blockbuster trade.
The Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants pulled off a shocking trade involving Rafael Devers. FanSided's Alec MacNichol suggested an even more shocking trade that would be a "dream blockbuster for the Phillies. MacNichol suggested the Phillies trade for Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels.
Trout is a future Hall of Famer, three-time MVP Award winner, 11-time All-Star and nine-time Silver Slugger. Despite some seasons with both Trout and Shohei Ohtani, the Angels have failed to be a contender with Trout. He has more than five years left on his 12-year, $426 million deal. The Angels are not completely out of contention yet, but trading Trout could land a haul of players to set them up for the future.
Trout is slashing .226/.333/.437. However, since returning from the injured list in late May, he is hitting .286 with an .818 OPS. He would be a clear upgrade for the Phillies and potentially shift the tide in the National League. The Phillies would have a lineup that features both Bryce Harper and Trout.

"Any trade package for Trout would require a few prospects and MLB-ready pitching, which may look something like Crawford and Phillies' No. 15 prospect Carson DeMartini, plus Abel or Seth Johnson," wrote MacNichol. "Or perhaps the Phillies could give up less prospect capital if they're willing to take on some of the remaining $200+ million left on Trout's contract."
Trout has remained loyal to the Angels despite their constant failure to build a contender around him. He is nearing the end of his career, and if he is finally ready to leave Los Angeles in favor of competing for a World Series, the Phillies should be on the phone trying to get him.
