Last offseason, the Boston Red Sox lost star shortstop Xander Bogaerts to the San Diego Padres after failing to offer him a fair deal and before the Padres gave him an unbelievable contract worth $280 million over 11 years.

While the organization may not have been willing to show Bogaerts how much he meant to the team with a contract, Red Sox fans showed him appreciation on Friday night.

With Bogaerts in the dugout during his return to Fenway Park for the first time since signing his new deal, the Red Sox played a video tribute on the video board in center field, and fans gave him a standing ovation.

Hopefully, the next time Bogaerts comes to Fenway, he's healthy enough to play and fans can show their appreciation again.
