The road to what Phillies fans hope will be a third consecutive season with a deep playoff run begins in Clearwater, Florida.
Spring training games in the Phillies' longtime home away from home will provide the first glimpse of the 2024 team, which will enter the new MLB season with high expectations.
After falling to the Astros in the World Series in 2022 and suffering a heartbreaking seven-game defeat to the upstart Diamondbacks in last year's NLCS, the Phillies know they're close. They just have to take that final step or two to hoist the Commissioner's Trophy for the first time since 2008.
The Phillies' roster is largely intact after a quiet offseason. Their marquee move was re-signing ace Aaron Nola to a seven-year deal, and they also extended manager Rob Thomson through 2025. Veterans Craig Kimbrel (Orioles) and Rhys Hoskins (Brewers) have moved on, but plenty of talent remains for another playoff run.
Their work will begin in Clearwater, the Phillies' spring training home since 1947. The team's current home stadium, BayCare Ballpark, turns 20 this spring but remains one of the top facilities in the Grapefruit League for fans.

Phillies pitchers and catchers will hold their first workouts on Wednesday, Feb. 14, with the first full-squad workout to follow on Monday, Feb. 19.
