Giancarlo Stanton update: Slugger thanks fans on Twitter, says he feels 'much better' image

Less than a day after Giancarlo Stanton took an 88-mph fastball to the face, the slugger took to Twitter to provide a bit of an update.

And the news on his condition was encouraging, relatively speaking. The Marlins announced that Stanton, who suffered multiple facial fractures, facial lacerations and dental damage, wasn't expected to need surgery.

The Twitter hashtag #GetWellGiancarlo was filled with well-wishes all day Friday, and the Marlins collected some of the best ones here.
