The New York Yankees' infield could use an upgrade. Jazz Chisholm Jr. has played great since his return to the team, but DJ LeMahieu has struggled.
Chisholm has slashed .329/.390/.548 in 20 games since his return from the injured list. His bat has been great, but he is having to play third base because LeMahieu has to play second base. Chisholm is a much better defender at second base than in the hot corner. LeMahieu has not been great defensively and has been subpar at the plate.
The Yankees could move Chisholm back to second base by acquiring a third baseman. ClutchPoints' Zachary Howell proposed the Yankees trade for Ramón Urías from the Baltimore Orioles with this deal:
- Yankees receive: Ramón Urías
- Orioles receive: Jesus Rodriguez (Yankees No. 30 prospect)
Urías is under club control for one more season and won a Gold Glove in 2022. This season, he has made 49 starts at third base and is slashing .255/.310/.388 with six home runs. He does not hit for much power, but he plays good defense and would be an upgrade from LeMahieu in the Yankees' lineup.

The Orioles are set up to be sellers at the trade deadline, and Urías could be a cheap addition for the Yankees. LeMahieu is slashing .240/.313/.327 and is clearly no longer a reliable starter. The Yankees could upgrade their bench by moving him there, but they need a better option in the starting lineup.
