The New York Yankees are off to a strong start despite multiple injury issues. The team is 14-9 and tied with the Detroit Tigers for the best record in the American League.
However, they might need to upgrade in some areas when the trade deadline comes around. They have a bit of a hole at third base.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. is playing second base mostly, but New York could use a right-handed bat in its lineup, especially with Giancarlo Stanton out.
David Schoenfield of ESPN listed the Bronx Bombers as a possibility for St. Louis Cardinals star Nolan Arenado.
"Alec Bohm is struggling with the Phillies, the Cubs demoted Matt Shaw, the Blue Jays aren't getting any production at third, the Yankees have only one home run from their third basemen ... it's a long list. If the Cardinals pay down some of the contract, they could probably find Arenado a new home."

Arenado is off to a solid start with the Cardinals in 2025. He's hitting .288/.395/.452 with two home runs, 10 RBI and an .847 OPS.
Yankee Stadium is a hitter-friendly environment, so the eight-time All-Star could certainly pick up right where he left off if he joins the Yankees at the deadline.
Arenado, 34 has five Silver Slugger awards, 10 Gold Gloves and six Platinum Gloves to his name. The Cardinals are likely to be sellers at the trade deadline, so it would certainly make sense for them to try and find a spot for Arenado.
As for the Yankees, they could significantly improve their lineup and give themselves some much-needed power to boost their lineup. Arenado could also reunite with his former Cardinals teammate in Paul Goldschmidt.
