Shohei Ohtani was slumping. And then suddenly he wasn't.

After 11 rough games, Ohtani broke out of his recent slump with a couple of big hits in the Dodgers' series finale against the Mets in New York.

His first knock came in the fifth inning when he drove home Miguel Vargas from second base to push Los Angeles' lead to 3-0.

The Mets came back to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth, but then the Dodgers hung up six runs in the eighth, including a two-run homer from Ohtani that provided an exclamation point for the inning.

The two-run blast was Ohtani's 14th of the season and his first HR since May 17. It was only a matter of time before Ohtani got rolling again, and if Wednesday is any indication, the slump is over and the MVP is back.
