After the Houston Astros lost their game to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, they lost their lead in the AL West. They are now tied with a red-hot Seattle Mariners team for the top spot in the division.
It looks like the Astros are still trying to adjust to a new lineup that includes multiple players who were added before the MLB trade deadline.
Houston will continue their attempt to shake off the rust, and on Wednesday, they made multiple pitching moves.
"The Astros called up Jordan Weems and optioned Colton Gordon to Triple-A," The Athletic's Chandler Rome announced before their final game of a series against the Boston Red Sox.

Houston has made the move due to the multiple starting pitchers that have come back from the injured list. Players like Spencer Arrighetti and Cristian Javier have made their returns to the big league mound.
Colton Gordon, a rookie starting pitcher, showed flashes of potential back in June. In four starts, he finished with a 3-0 record and a 2.14 ERA during the month. Since then, Gordon was only able to pick up one win in six starts, and his ERA shot up to 5.64.
Meanwhile, Houston will add relief pitcher Jordan Weems to their bullpen. The 32-year-old righty has made two appearances for the Astros before getting designated for assignment on July 4. After testing out free agency for a couple of days, he resigned with the team on July 7.
In the two appearances Weems has made this season, he has a 6.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP, and has given up five hits in 3.0 innings pitched.
