Tigers earn high praise from Red Sox Alex Bregman amid MLB-best record image

The Detroit Tigers have been one of the best storylines to watch over the last year. From selling at the 2024 trade deadline to sneaking into the playoffs and having a fun run, to now being atop the AL Central with a chance to secure a first-round bye.

To say things have been going great for Detroit lately would be an understatement. Amid the sudden rise of the Tigers, Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free Press shared reactions from various players, including Alex Bregman, who shared high praise of the organization from the top down.

"Really good players, good organization, good manager, good coaches," Bregman said. "They play the game the right way. They're having an incredible start to this season, and they have a ton of All-Stars here, deservedly so. They're one of the best teams in the league."

It's very high praise from Bregman, with plenty of different people receiving praise. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch is someone Bregman previously played for with the Houston Astros, so his praise there isn't a surprise.

But his praise of the players and the organization is a good sign. If other players who've never played for the Tigers are saying such things, it's a sign that the Tigers are doing things the right way.

With Bregman expected to be a free agent after the season, and the Tigers rumored to be interested in third base help, this could also help them convince Bregman to come to Detroit if negotiations fall through with the Red Sox.

The Tigers have gone 99-64 since August 11th of 2025, though their loss to the Chicago White Sox dropped them down a game. However, among teams in the American League, no one has been better over the last year and 163 games played.

Their sudden rise from trade deadline sellers has been a great story, and now in 2025, the Tigers are looking to be one of the top contenders for the World Series.

Though the team has struggled a little bit lately, going 5-6 in August, the Tigers still have a lead in the AL Central and can earn a first-round bye for the postseason.

One of the reasons for such a turnaround is thanks to the great organization, players, coaches, and manager, as Bregman stated.

He wasn't the only player to praise the Tigers, but coming from a player who was a part of the Astros, who won multiple World Series titles, the praise sticks more than it does coming from other players around baseball.
