The Cleveland Guardians have been one of the most headlined teams leading up to the MLB trade deadline. It almost seems as if nobody is safe on the roster after hearing multiple top players have their names mentioned in rumors.
From former Cy Young Award winner Shane Bieber to Gold Glove outfielder Stevan Kwan, someone is bound to be getting sent out of Cleveland. It's just a matter of time before a trade takes place.
Guardians manager Stephen Vogt understands that the MLB is a business, and he was able to speak on the current state of the team on Wednesday.
"It’s always a hard day, interesting day, fun day, and all over the map for everyone. So, we’ll see how it goes."
"Kwan, he’s a pro. All of our guys understand the business, and that’s the beauty of our job. I haven’t noticed a change in [Kwan’s] demeanor one bit, along with some other guys that are in the rumors. That’s what they are still, they’re rumors until they’re not... You don’t know until you know. That’s why you show up every day, you have the same mindset, same attitude, same smile on your face, and the 26 guys in that room are in control, and we’re going to continue to support them anyway we can," Vogt said before the Guardians' 5-0 win against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday.
Reports believe that Cleveland is in heavy pursuit of teams that are willing to trade for Steven Kwan and Shane Bieber before Thursday's deadline.
With this being said, both players quite possibly could have played in their last games as members of the Guardians.
