Ahead of their three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Cleveland Guardians have decided to make a few quick roster movements.

Right-handed pitcher Zak Kent is being recalled from Triple-A Columbus, and in turn, right-handed pitcher Nic Enright will be optioned to Triple-A Columbus, per the team.

The decision of manager Stephen Vogt to send Enright back down to the minors is somewhat of a puzzling one, as Enright began making up for his shaky start in May with magnificent production in June, allowing only three hits and no runs in the nine innings he has pitched this month.

Vogt has even put the ball in Enright's hands during crucial gametime situations, including just last night when Enright was able to get Cleveland out of a jam in the tenth inning.

Replacing with Kent somewhat makes up for the questionable decision, boasting a 2-2 record with a 1.80 ERA in 25 innings pitched. Kent will look to improve on his 5.40 ERA in the majors that he carries so far.

Cleveland currently sits 8.5 games back behind the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central standings, who happen to hold the best record in baseball at 50-31, which they share with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Guardians are currently split at a game apiece in their series against the Blue Jays, setting up a grudging tiebreaker between the two before Cleveland welcomes St. Louis to Progressive Field for a weekend series against the Cardinals, the All-Star break sitting just under a month away.
