Could the Red Sox sign this righty Silver Slugger during the offseason? image

The Boston Red Sox are hunting for a new righty slugger, something that their batting order desperately needs. While they didn’t give their old slugger Tyler O’Neill a qualifying offer, they could still form a new contract with him. However, most fans and insiders are pointing to one man to fill the role: Teoscar Hernandez

Hernandez was awesome for the LA Dodgers, hitting .272/.339/.501/.840, with 32 doubles, 33 home runs and 99 RBI. He also helped in the playoffs, getting the Dodgers their second World Series Title in five seasons.

Hernandez has been extended a qualifying offer by the Dodgers, but it is uncertain if he will take them up on it.

If he doesn’t, the Sox should swoop in on him because in Fenway, he is a monster. Over 45 games in Fenway, Hernandez slashed .282/.344/.606/.950, with 14 home runs, nine doubles and 44 RBI.

Although he may be expensive, he is the real deal. He would be the perfect righty bat for the lineup, and the Sox need to get him.
