The Boston Red Sox talks with the Chicago White Sox are heating up, as both sides are coming closer to a deal. Per Red Sox insider Sean McAdam, The White Sox are interested in Gold glove rookie Wilyer Abreu being the headliner on the Red Sox’s side of the trade.

“I was told that the White Sox have interest in Abreu and would be fine with him headlining, obviously not being the only guy in the deal (for Garrett Crochet)…including a pretty good prospect”.

This aligns with a mock trade put out by Play Tessie, a podcast on the WEEI network. In it, it had Abreu as the headline, Kutter Crawford as the pitching replacement, and number 15 overall Sox prospect Jhostynxon Garcia.

This trade pretty much meets all the demands set by the White Sox, and may be what the two teams decide on.

If this is the first thing the Sox do this offseason and it isn’t the last, it will put the Sox in a great direction, unlike the past five years.
