The Boston Red Sox completed a wild trade last week when they sent Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for pitchers Jordan Hicks and Kyle Harrison.
The Giants have agreed to pay the rest of Devers' contract, which frees up a ton of salary space for Boston to potentially go out and sign a big-name free agent this coming winter.
There will be plenty of options to choose from, but they might need to go for a bat to replace Devers.
Connor Ryan of Boston.com proposed the idea of Boston reuniting with Kyle Schwarber.
"Letting Schwarber walk after his brief stint with Boston in 2021 was a miscalculation, considering that the slugger has gone on to club 154 home runs over his four seasons so far with the Phillies. He’s on pace for 48 home runs and 114 RBI this year," Ryan wrote.

The Red Sox acquired Schwarber from the Washington Nationals back in 2021 at the trade deadline, and he helped guide the Sox to their first ALCS appearance since 2018.
After losing in six games to the Houston Astros, Schwarber signed in Philadelphia. If he does not return to the Phillies, Boston should be all over a possible reunion.
Schwarber is a full-fledged designated hitter at this point in his career and can slide right into where Devers was before the trade took place.
The veteran slugger is slashing .249/.380/.540 with 24 home runs 55 RBI. He also has a 2.3 WAR and a .920 OPS.
The right field wall at Fenway Park is short, so he should be able to adapt to hitting in Boston very quickly, especially given his prior experience with the team.
It will be interesting to see where Boston allocates its funds this coming offseason.
