Four runners from Ankeny earned high school All-American status at the Nike Outdoor Nationals and USATF U20 event held in Eugene, Oregon.
The quartet of Charlee Cibula, Lillian Buckley, Morgan Fisher and Makenna Madetzke placed fourth in the sprint medley relay (the distance medley relay in Iowa) from Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.
Cibula, Buckley, Fisher and Madetzke went 4:04.23 out of the third heat, placing behind relays from Indiana, California and Minnesota. The winning time came in at 3:58.51, as the runner-up relay also broke four minutes.
Earlier this year, Cibula, Buckley, Fisher and Madetzke were second in the Class 4A distance medley relay title at the state track and field tournament. The group clocked a time of 4:00.10.
Also during the event, Linn-Mar standout Abby Meckenburg placed third in the long jump, earning herself All-American status.
