One of the nation’s top tight ends is staying close to home.
Braden Bach, an incoming senior tight end at Argyle (Texas), announced his commitment to play at TCU during a ceremony Saturday afternoon that was broadcast online by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Bach chose the Horned Frogs over Big 12 Conference rivals Kansas and Kansas State.

When asked why he chose TCU, Bach quickly pointed out the close proximity of the Fort Worth campus. TCU is located just more than a half-hour from Argyle, which is between Fort Worth and Denton.
“First off, there’s nothing like Fort Worth, Texas; I’ve got to love home,” Bach said following his announcement. “Also, just the way they use their tight ends and the opportunities that are presented for me, it looks really good.”
Bach, considered a three-star recruit, was also reportedly the only tight end TCU targeted and offered in the Class of 2026.
“It said that I’m a priority and that’s where I want to be,” Bach said. I want to be somewhere where they actually want me and I’m really excited, I’ve got a great relationship with Coach (Mitchell) Kirsch (TCU’s tight ends coach) and (TCU head) Coach (Sonny) Dykes and I’m really fired up.”
For Argyle last season, Bach (6-foot-5, 232 pounds) caught 26 passes - second-most on the squad - for 247 yards and scored three TDs.
When asked what TCU fans are looking forward to seeing him do, Bach noted he can perform a number of activities.
“I can do it all,” he said. “I can catch, I can run, I can block, so I’m coming to play football.”
Before going down to Fort Worth, Bach is now getting ready for his senior season at Argyle. Last season, the Eagles finished 13-2 and reached the UIL 5A Division II state semifinals before falling to South Oak Cliff.
“We’re looking dominant; we’re returning a ton of starters, we’ve got some really seasoned guys and we’re going to be one of the best teams in Texas,” Bach said.
Argyle kicks off its upcoming season on Aug. 29 at home against Frisco Lone Star.
