Scottie Scheffler is the No. 1 golfer in the world heading into the 2024 PGA Championship. And he may just have a new No. 1 fan.
The 27-year-old and his wife Meredith welcomed in a baby boy named Bennett on May 8, Scheffler announced via Instagram.
Bennett Scheffler arrives just in time for the second major of 2024, which his father is the favorite to win. A title at Louisville's Valhalla Golf Club would mark back-to-back major wins for Scheffler. It would also be the first PGA Championship victory of his career.

Scottie and Meredith got married in 2020 and celebrated their three-year anniversary on Dec. 4, 2023.
Meredith is a director with the nonprofit Behind Every Door. Behind Ever Door offers community centers for under represented Dallas neighborhoods.
The couple met in high school in Dallas. Before they got married in 2020, Meredith did not have experience golfing, but she did get a chance to caddie for Scottie at the 2022 and 2023 Masters' Par 3 contest.

Bennett Scheffler is the newest member of the Scheffler family. Meredith gave birth to the couple's first child in May 2024.
Meredith's pregnancy was a topic during the Masters Tournament in April. She wasn't expected to give birth just yet, but Scheffler said he would leave Augusta if his wife went into labor.
Scheffler went on to win the 2024 Masters, and Bennett was born after the tournament but before his dad traveled to Kentucky for the 2024 PGA Championship.
