The second major of 2025 has arrived.
Around a month following Rory McIlroy's thrilling victory at Augusta National, some of the world's top golfers are back for the PGA Championship. On Thursday, the event begins with Round 1 at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, N.C., marking the second time the tournament has been played at the course.
McIlroy, now one of few golfers to secure a Career Grand Slam, enters the PGA Championship as one of the favorites following his Masters victory. But there are plenty of other candidates to win the 107th PGA Championship. Scottie Scheffler will rank among the favorites, as well, but Xander Schauffele won the 2024 PGA Championship and Justin Thomas won the last time it was at Quail Hollow back in 2017.

Another storyline to follow will be whether Jordan Speith can join McIlroy as a member of the Career Grand Slam club, as the 31-year-old lacks only a PGA Championship victory among the four majors. From McIlroy's moment to Scheffler's consistency to Speith's quest for history, there will be plenty to watch for at Quail Hollow. The action in Charlotte begins Thursday and will last through Sunday when a victor will be crowned.
