Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Starting pitcher rankings, strategy for April 23 image

Our daily fantasy baseball picks continue with starting pitcher rankings and advice for Saturday's MLB slate (finally).

Sorry for the delay. Let's get right to Saturday's starting pitcher picks and rankings for daily fantasy baseball and seasonal formats. You should also cross-reference these against the daily rankings in Fantasy Alarm's DFS Playbook PRO to find the values we both love.

As usual, we'll also have the day's best daily fantasy hitter picks to help you find the best values on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck!

Daily fantasy baseball picks

Splurge: John Lackey/Masahiro Tanaka. If you're not going all the way up for an ace, these two are the next-best options against weak lineups. Lackey ($9,300 on FD; $8,500 on DK) gets the Reds again, while Tanaka ($9,500 on FD; $10,800 on DK) faces the Rays. Lackey is obviously the best value on DK; I'd rather pay up for Felix Hernandez on DK ($10,600) than Tanaka.

Sell: Hector Santiago, Angels vs. Mariners. This feels like a trap with Santiago ($8,100 on FD; $8,400 on DK) coming off a 10-K victory his last time out.  I don't like the matchup against King Felix either.

Save: Anibal Sanchez, Tigers vs. Indians. Sanchez ($6,800 on FD; $7,800 on DK) looks better on FanDuel, and has good K-upside and win potential against a weak Indians lineup. If you want to spend a little more than this, I actually don't hate Kenta Maeda ($7,500 on FD; $7,000 on DK) in Colorado, and Steven Matz ($8,300 on FD; $8,700 on DK) is safe in Atlanta.
