Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Starting pitcher rankings, strategy for April 22 image

Our daily fantasy baseball picks continue with starting pitcher rankings and advice for Friday's MLB slate.

It's an all-evening slate, which means no MLB games or DFS contests to distract us from work Friday. Oh well, more time for research. Speaking of which, check out  Fantasy Alarm's DFS Playbook PRO if you haven't already.

Anyway, it will be very interesting to see how pitcher ownership shakes out tonight. There are a few aces worth the price or admission, and several great value picks who can fit into (and boost) just about any lineup. In short, there's no one-size-fits-all strategy on the mound tonight, so get creative.

Let's take a look at Friday's starting pitcher picks and rankings for daily fantasy baseball and seasonal formats. As usual, we'll also have the day's best daily fantasy hitter picks and Fantasy Alarm's MLB DFS Playbook to help you find the best values on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck!

Daily fantasy baseball picks

Splurge: Matt Harvey, Mets at Braves. I'm hoping Harvey's early-season struggles scare enough owners away from him despite the good matchup. There's nothing to suggest Harvey ($9,800 on FD; $10,300 on DK) is injured, so he could get on track tonight in Atlanta. I'd rather have Jon Lester at just $10,000 on DK though.

Sell: Adam Wainwright, Cardinals at Padres. I'm not so confident Wainwright ($8,500 on FD; $9,700 on DK) is going to shake his early-season struggles, even against the Padres. I need to see a good start from him before ponying up the cash, especially on DK.

Save: Aaron Sanchez, Blue Jays vs. A's . I really like both Sanchez ($6,700 on FD; $7,200 on DK) and Aaron Nola ($6,900 on FD; $8,300 on DK), but Sanchez is cheaper on both sites and has the better chance to win. FYI, I'll be picking Sanchez a lot until his price catches up to his production.
