Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Starting pitcher rankings, strategy for April 20 image

Our daily fantasy baseball picks continue with starting pitcher rankings and advice for Wednesday's MLB slate.

There's a lot of talent at all price levels on the mound Wednesday, but unfortunately several of the aces and values are pitching in the afternoon slate. Raisel Iglesias, Kyle Hendricks, Carlos Martinez, Garrett Richards, Chris Sale, Taijuan Walker and Danny Salazar are all starting before 7 p.m. ET. To make matters worse, several are facing off against each other.

While that means you'll have no trouble finding a good arm this afternoon, good luck guessing who gets the win. I'd rather hold out for the evening slate and go with a value like Joe Ross (at Miami) or hedge by going with aces Zack Greinke and Madison Bumgarner in separate lineups.

Either way, let's take a look at Wednesday's starting pitcher picks and rankings for daily fantasy baseball and seasonal formats. As usual, we'll also have the day's best daily fantasy hitter picks and Fantasy Alarm's MLB DFS Playbook to help you find the best values on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck!

Splurge: Madison Bumgarner and Zack Greinke. Those playing multi-entry tournaments should consider lineups featuring both aces to hedge and try to capitalize on a potential pitchers duel. Otherwise, there just aren't any aces who deserve your cash tonight, so you're better off looking for value on the mound and spending up on offense.

Sell: Chris Archer, Rays at Red Sox. The Ks are there for Archer ($11,000 on FD; $8,500 on DK), but he's not working deep enough into games to post the big fantasy points worthy of his high price on FanDuel. He's more tolerable on DK, but I still don't like the matchup — especially against the red-hot Rick Porcello, who's a sneaky value pick.

Save: Joe Ross, Nationals at Marlins. So many good values, including Porcello, but Ross ($7,500 on FD; $8,100 on DK) stands out with the best overall matchup. He's not as attractive on DK, but Jordan Zimmermann ($7,400) and Drew Pomeranz ($6,300) are both under-priced there.
