Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Starting pitcher rankings, strategy for April 12 image

Our daily fantasy baseball picks continue with starting pitcher rankings and advice for Tuesday's MLB slate.

Fortunately, all the fantasy aces are pitching in the evening slate of Tuesday's odd, 12-game schedule featuring two afternoon games. That includes the epic matchup between Noah Syndergaard and Jose Fernandez. Unfortunately, two of the better daily fantasy baseball pitcher values — Juan Nicasio and Kenta Maeda — are being "wasted" during the afternoon slate, which isn't even included on DraftKings.

That makes it difficult to find good, relatively "safe" DFS value picks in the evening slate, but we're here to help. Let's take a look at our starting pitcher rankings (for daily and seasonal leagues) and picks below. As usual, we'll also have the day's best daily fantasy hitter picks and Fantasy Alarm's MLB DFS Playbook to help you find the best values on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck!

Daily fantasy baseball picks

Splurge: Corey Kluber, Indians at Rays. With Syndergaard and Fernandez dueling each other for that all-important win, why not pay less for Kluber ($10,600 on FD) against Matt Moore and the Rays? Problem is, Kluber is actually the most expensive SP on DK ($12,200), so I might take the "discount" on Syndergaard ($10,400) there if you're short on cash.

Sell: Masahiro Tanaka, Yankees at Blue Jays. I want to trust Tanaka in these tough AL East matchups, but his prices ($9,100 on FD; $10,000 on DK) are just too close to the other aces who are in better situations.

Save: Aaron Sanchez, Blue Jays vs. Yankees. If you take afternoon pitchers Maeda, Nicasio and even Patrick Corbin off the table, there's not much left in terms of SP value picks Tuesday. That leaves high-risk, high-reward picks like Aaron Sanchez ($6,700 on FD; $5,900 on DK), who should be lightly owned because of the unfavorable matchup and ballpark. Keep in mind this is a tournament play only; just pay up for an ace (or at least Gio Gonzalez vs. ATL) in cash games.
