Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Starting pitcher rankings, advice for May 9

Our daily fantasy baseball picks continue with starting pitcher rankings and advice for Monday's MLB slate.

Lots of expensive aces for and good values for your cash-game and tourney lineups in tonight's 13-game slate, so there is going to be a wide variety of lineup combos across the board. For that reason, I wouldn't worry too much about trying to be "different" on the mound; just make sure you get a solid starter with a good chance to win. You can find plenty of ways to be different in your offense with several low-quality pitchers on the mound who will make scrubs look like All-Stars tonight.

Daily fantasy baseball picks

Splurge: Jose Fernandez, Marlins vs. Brewers. It's between Fernandez ($10,800 on FD; $11,300 on DK) and Jon Lester ($11,000 on FD; $11,800 on DK) vs. the Padres here, but Fernandez gets the nod because he's a little cheaper on both sites. Both have good chances to dominate and win; I'd be happy either way, depending on what your budget allows. 

Sell: Stephen Strasburg, Nationals vs. Tigers. Because of the realtively tough matchup and high price tag, I'm avoiding Strasburg ($11,000 on FD; $11,600 on DK) and going with other aces in the same range who have better matchups.

Save: Aaron Sanchez, Blue Jays at Giants. Sanchez ($7,100 on FD; $6,900 on DK) looks like a great value on the road in an NL park and he should get plenty of run support from the Blue Jays bats against Jake Peavy.
