When does F1 return after summer break? Dates, remaining schedule for next Formula One races image

The Formula 1 season is on a summer break following the 14th race of the season at the Hungarian Grand Prix, which took place on August 3.

McLaren has dominated competition in 2025. Oscar Piastri, who has won six races this season, currently leads the Drivers' standings with 284 points while McLaren teammate Lando Norris trails him by just nine points. The next best, Max Verstappen, is a distant third at 187 points.

In the constructors championships, McLaren, with 559 points, is head and shoulders above the rest. They have opened up a 299-point lead over second-placed Ferrari.

McLaren’s mid-season suspension update brought Norris back into rhythm, yielding three wins in four races and trimming the deficit. Both know this may be their one clear shot at the crown before the rulebook resets.

With Red Bull and Ferrari struggling for consistency, the duel has become the season’s central drama. Verstappen’s occasional brilliance can’t mask his car’s unpredictability, while Ferrari remains winless despite flashes of competitiveness.

The summer shutdown now freezes development for two weeks, forcing teams to regroup ahead of the final 10-race showdown. If the first half is any indicator, the fight for the drivers’ title will go down to the wire.
