Week 7 PPR Rankings: WR

Key injuries (T.Y. Hilton, Calvin Ridley, Cooper Kupp, Quincy Enunwa) and key bye weeks (Packers, Steelers, Seahawks, Raiders) are shaking up the Week 7 PPR rankings for WRs. For now, we're leaving Hilton and Ridley in our rankings, but if all four WRs are out, that will create sleeper opportunities for Chester Rogers, Mohamed Sanu (or possibly Justin Hardy), Josh Reynolds, and Jermaine Kearse. That's the beauty of point-per-reception fantasy leagues -- there are always a few extra sleepers available on the waiver wire than in standard leagues.

And just like how evaluating players is different in standard vs. PPR leagues, so is evaluating matchups. While most fantasy-points-per-game metrics are based on yards and touchdowns, receptions also need to be factored in. A look at the top five teams in terms of receptions allowed to WRs (PHI, NYJ, NO, CLE, NE) only reveals two teams in the top five of standard FPPG allowed (NO, PHI). Teams Nos. 2 (TB), 3 (PIT) and 5 (LAC) are no higher than No. 13 in receptions allowed to WRs. Maybe that's a bit fluky, but at a certain point in the season, we have to really start paying attention to these numbers.

Week 7 Standard Rankings:
Quarterback | Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | Kicker

For the most part, the PPR rankings are always going to be similar to the standard rankings, but the usual suspects (Jarvis Landry, Emmanuel Sanders, Julian Edelman) always rise. So far this year, Tyler Boyd, Nelson Agholor, and Willie Snead are quietly joining those ranks (with Boyd taking another leap beyond that). They're all rising once again, with guys like Michael Crabtree (vs. NO) and Taylor Gabriel (vs. NE) also rising thanks to good matchups and consistent targets.
