Week 7 Fantasy PPR Rankings: RB image

The PPR format really makes you appreciate those do-it-all running backs. In a league that is slowly becoming more and more enamored with specialists at the RB position, guys like Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon, and Alvin Kamara become all the more valuable in fantasy leagues. But beyond that echelon of top guys, our Week 7 RB PPR rankings are harder to decode, as many "lead backs" get a lot of snaps but have counterparts that see a lot of catches.

Take the Redskins. They have Adrian Peterson, who gets most of the carries and is normally the lead producer in their backfield. However, the team also has Chris Thompson, and he can sometimes catch a lot of passes and make big plays all over the field. That evens the two out in PPR formats, even though Peterson usually gets more touches, as Thompson plays the more important receiving role in the backfield. That's just one of the quirks of PPR, and that's why so many people like it.

Week 7 Standard Rankings:
Quarterback | Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | Kicker

For this week, we really like some of the receiving backs to take bigger roles, and thus be starters in PPR. The guys in the Patriots-Bears game, James White (Pats) and Tarik Cohen (Bears), both crack our top 20, as that game has the potential to be another solid offensive game that could favor them this week. Elsewhere, Nyheim Hines is another guy we like as a low-end RB2, even though Marlon Mack is eating into his touches a little bit.

In the flex territory, there are some other sleeper options, including Bilal Powell (vs. Vikings), Chris Thompson (if healthy, vs. Cowboys), and Theo Riddick (@ Dolphins). These guys may not get as much attention due to bad matchups, health, and committee work, but they should all have a chance to produce in PPR starting lineups.
