It looks like Wednesday’s games, including five in the afternoon, will have more strikeouts than an Oprah show could ever give away. Chris Sale and Luis Severino both pitch in the afternoon daily fantasy baseball slate, but the majority of strikeouts will be during the evening when Carlos Martinez, Carlos Carrasco and Yu Darvish, among others, will be starting. Although the big names will get their usual share of strikeouts, there are lesser known players who have a high chance to swing FanDuel and DraftKings contests, as well.
I’ll restrain myself from the overused pun, but Mike Fiers has been great in his past two starts -- 14 innings, 20 strikeouts, three runs, two wins -- and he faces a weak Phillies offense. Also, Jake Arrieta is an intriguing pick. He’s been pitching better lately, and the White Sox have been struggling mightily with a 1-9 record in their past 10 games.
If you want to go a little bold, you can try Aaron Nola. He has been nothing short of spectacular since June, but he goes on the road against a red-hot Astros offense. Also, Steven Matz visits San Diego, a team with the worst batting average and fifth-most strikeouts against lefties.

There are a bunch of pitchers in play tonight in all formats, and the Rangers, Indians, and Cubs are by far the best teams to have exposure to hitting-wise. There are still others teams that you can target players from, with the Blue Jays and Dodgers leading that second tier.
