There are six games on the afternoon slate for Saturday's daily fantasy baseball action, and those contests include three of the top four staraters in our pitcher rankings.
For the afternoon selections, Cole Hamels hasn't been striking out hitters as often lately, but he has four wins in his past five starts (all quality starts). Against a top-seven team in K-rate vs. lefties, Hamels can get a QS and a ton of Ks. Gio Gonzalez also faces a top-seven team in terms of K-rate against lefties. Also, Gerrit Cole's relatively low ranking is because the Reds are his Achilles' heel. In nine career starts, he's 0-6 with a 5.14 ERA against them.
In the evening slate, Madison Bumgarner has been hitting his stride as of late, and his career numbers against the D-backs this year has been equally as good. Carlos Rodon has been pitching at an ace level lately, and although the Tigers aren't notorious for striking out, that hasn't stopped Rodon from racking up Ks in his past couple starts.
